Ms Zimudzi Farayi, a national of Zimbabwe, began her career in 1988 as Principal Fisheries Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Harare, Zimbabwe. She joined FAO in 2000 as Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 2005, she became Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator in the FAO Representation in Lesotho and also covered the function of FAO Representative ad interim from September 2009 to May 2010. From 2011 to 2012, she worked in the Emergency and Rehabilitation Division at FAO headquarters as Programme
Advisor, Global Food Security Cluster. From 2012 to 2013 she served as Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator in the FAO Representation in Zambia covering concurrently the function of FAO Representative ad interim from December 2012 to March 2013. In April 2013 she was appointed Programme and Operations Officer in the Regional Office for Africa (RAF), Accra, Ghana. Ms Zimudzi succeeds Mr Babagana Ahmadu as FAO Representative in Namibia.
